Kathy Rither

Kathy Rither Kathy has over 25 years of experience working with Teen Challenge. After pioneering a local women's jail ministry, she became discouraged as women continually returned to the local jails in spite of their good intentions. She discovered Northwest Teen Challenge in Seattle and began referring local women to their residential program. In 1978, she worked as part of the administrative staff for the women's Teen Challenge center in Columbus, Ohio, helping with curriculum development. Returning to the Tri-Cities, Kathy was asked to affiliate with Northwest Teen Challenge (now Pacific Northwest Region) as an intake representative.

Originally from Seattle, Kathy has a degree in Education and Spanish and taught bilingual education in the Tri-Cities schools. She and her husband, Alan have two grown children, David and Sara.

Kathy believes that not one woman in jail or prison is ever forgotten by God. Jesus came to heal and empower each woman to become the strong and confident person she was created to be.
